Overview of the physiology of stress
the Chronic and Endocrine System
Diabetes and thyroid disease range from stress-related conditions to endocrines. Stress has been linked to a number of recent evidence of health problems, which show its participation in male infertility, allergies and headache.
Hormones are separated by the neuronal glands during the normal stress response, causing several physiological effects but chronic pressure can lead to the constant release of the hormones, which leads to severe physical and mental health problems.
The role of stress on causing chronic, not transmitted diseases such as cardiac diseases (hypertension), metabolic syndrome and infertility is discussed in the physical effects of stress.
Attribution of case
In this task, you will concentrate on one endocrine, its normal function in the body and its responsiveness during stressful times. You will also investigate one stress disorder.
Choose from the table below for research one of the following endocrine glands. Talk about the produced hormones and the body’s use of those hormones. Please include in your essay an image of your endocrine organ chosen.
Describe what happens to the body when this organ’s hormone (or hormones) gets unbalanced during stress. When the body is under acute stress, what happens to the gland? Stress chronic?
Describe one of your chosen endocrine gland-related stress disorders (see chart below or pick your own. Make sure that stress is linked to it).
How do the short-term and long-term health effects of your chosen stress disorder?
How can you prevent or treat a stress-related condition of your choice?
