As a facility manager, you will be asked to define a problem in your property and make a decisionabout how you will handle the problem. Then, you will be asked to perform a life cycle cost analysis (LCCA) associated with the decision you made. You will receive detailed instructions in advance of the due date.Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is to provide you an opportunity to apply the life cycle cost analysis (LCCA) we covered in Chapter 3. While practicing LCCA, this assignment will provide a perspective on how to make decisions in business.

Describe your setting and provide a problem statement (10 points)
Example: Hotel XYZ is a luxury hotel with an average cost of $800 per night … The owner decided to renovate its outdated cocktail lounge …
With respect to the problem statement, identify at least two options that might be considered (15 points)
Example: re-designed seating areas vs. new wall covering
List all benefits and costs associated with each option that include (a) financial benefits, (b) financial costs, (c) nonfinancial benefits, and (d) nonfinancial costs. Make sure to include at least five per category (40 points)
Once you have all of your costs and benefits, then make a decision. You will state this as a suggestion or a recommendation, not a decision. Please note that we do not use “I think”, “I feel”, or “I believe” in business writing. This gives the impression that you are making the recommendation based on your thoughts, feelings, and beliefs.
