Use the information in the report to calculate the markup percentages and the sell-thru percentages for the listed items, along with the averages for each category. When your calculations are complete and you have inserted the results in the highlighted cells, answer the following questions:
Assume the targeted average markup percentage the group of items in the report is 57.8%. How many items have a markup percentage that is on target, below target, or above target?
Assume the targeted average sell-through percentage on the group of items is 44.5%. Was the target achieved? If not, identify which items were most responsible for under-performance of the group as a whole.
Assume that this group of items is ordered on the first day of the month, it takes three weeks for product to be received in the store, there is no other inventory of these items in the store, and no reserve inventory is kept for these items. Determine how many items will stock-out before the next order is received. Base your determination on the demand (sell-through %) reflected in the current report.
Make at least one recommendation to management in each of the following areas:
