We have exploring the idea of work shaping identity. Some work can be fulfilling while some work may harm us. Regardless, it shapes us, and when we lose our place in the working world, there can be a loss of the sense of self.

I walk among the rows of bowed heads–
the children are sleeping through fourth grade
so as to be ready for what is ahead,
the monumental boredom of junior high
