Math Museum Project
Create a professional image with the color of a puddle in the vast dry lands of Egypt. IMAGE MUST LOOK REALISTIC
● The puddle will only take about 20% of the actual image with the rest only showing the vast dry lands including pyramids, cactuses, etc.
● The puddle is going to be shining which is going to help create something that is similar to a star like shine with countless edges or spikes.
● The image must show the shapeless puddle with numerous edges born from the irregular shape of the small puddle.
● Must come with a SEPERATE key that describes what type of mathematics is used in the image. Key should not be placed in the actual image. SEPARATE DOCUMENT.
Things to think about when thinking about the mathematics involved: ● Data from climate change , how it affected it over the past couple years ● How scientists think about it getting lowered over the years ● Ways that global warming affected human life
Background information:
My idea is to create an image of the Egyptian puddle. The exhibition will represent the survival of the puddle, a natural experience in the Egyptian desert. This will be a portrait of the strength of nature despite all the numerous threats from pollution that it has and continues to encounter.
What is your initial idea?
My idea is to create an image of the Egyptian puddle. The exhibition will represent the survival of the puddle, a natural experience in the Egyptian desert. This will be a portrait of the strength of nature despite all the numerous threats from pollution that it has and continues to encounter.
What inspired you to create this exhibit?
In one of my science classes, I previously learned about how greenhouse gases have a very big negative effect on nature. According to environmental conservation activists, these types of gases are causing desertification in many areas around the world. One of the areas that is greatly affected by this is sub-Saharan Africa. Many of these scientists believe that the emission levels of greenhouse gases should be lowered. By lowering the emission levels, that will help with the desertification that is going on in Africa for example. I want to be able to show that nature can survive harsh times even though there are many different negative affects surrounding it.
What mathematics is involved in your exhibit?
● The portrait will show the shapeless puddle with numerous edges born from the irregular shape of the small puddle.
● The numerous edges represent the infinite ways in which global warming has affected human life.
● The small size of the puddle shows the helplessness with which nature has been left by human beings who are only concerned with their wellbeing in terms of the economic life.
● The puddle will only take about 20% of the image with the rest only showing the vast dry lands. This is going to demonstrate the percentage of thinking that man engages in nature and its conservation.
● The puddle is going to be shining which is going to help create something that is similar to a star like shine with countless edges or spikes. This is going to represent the countless ways in which man has harmed the environment.
How will you create/display your ideas and the mathematics involved?
● The small presentation of the object in the image is going to put most of the attention to the image which is going to have a good reflection.
● Since the image is going to be placed in the center of the intersecting pathways, that is going to help make it very noticeable.
